Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week

We’ve been celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2025 across the Cygnet Group.

This event provides an excellent opportunity to recognise and appreciate the value that apprenticeships bring to our organisation and showcase the advantages of our varied apprenticeship programmes.

Throughout the year, the Cygnet Apprenticeship Team has achieved significant success, and we now offer apprenticeship programmes for most roles. The Apprenticeships Team has introduced new programmes across several of our central functions, including; payroll, resourcing, marketing, legal, and health & safety. Colleagues from these teams have benefited greatly from the opportunities our apprenticeship pathways provide.

We have also expanded our offerings within both our Healthcare and Social Care services. This includes a business administration pathway that now incorporates a medical terminology qualification for our clinical secretaries.

Additionally, we recently celebrated the graduation of another group of registered nurse degree apprentices from University.

Apprenticeships in Numbers

  • More than 80 people completed their Apprenticeship with Cygnet in 2024. Congratulations to them all.
  • Three Apprentices were shortlisted as finalists in the Cygnet Staff Achievement Awards.
  • In 2024 we had another 180 people signing up for an Apprenticeship, smashing the target we’d set ourselves of increasing our numbers by 20%.

**New for 2025**

‘’With success comes the opportunity to expand provision….

We have exciting new programmes to introduce’’

  • We will continue to offer our most popular programmes, such as nursing, occupational therapy, adult care worker, leadership and management.
  • We listened to our colleagues and recognised the need to have something for our estates teams, so we will be trialling the Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship with six of our colleagues; giving them the skills and knowledge they need to carry out several maintenance and repair improvements.
  • We have also been working closely with the Quality team and will soon be introducing the Quality Compliance Officer Pathway.

And now….

If you would like to learn more about the experiences of several of our Cygnet apprentices and discover how an Apprenticeship has positively impacted their life and career prospects, we invite you to read their stories.

We are so grateful to our colleagues who have shared their apprenticeship journeys, highlighting the significant difference being an apprentice has made in their careers and lives. Enjoy reading their stories!
