The wards you’ll be working on…

Your career will grow and grow

If you’re a healthcare assistant with aspirations to become a nurse, or chef – or to work in organisational support. Or if you’re a nurse with an eye on management – we can support you in making it happen. We do it for our people, every day.

As well as working with our own diverse patient groups, you’ll have the chance to enhance your skills at different sites in the South West. You can gain experience in personality disorder, forensic services, PICU, neuropsychiatry and more, through our regional partnership with neighbouring hospitals.

You’ll benefit from strong community links

When you work at Cygnet Taunton, you won’t just live in the area – you’ll have the chance to become involved with the community and feel part of the world beyond the hospital grounds, thanks to our strong local links.

We sponsor semi-professional football club, Taunton Town and work with nearby charities, fostering mutually supportive relationships. Thanks to our Active Life Lead’s links with a local bike charity, a number of bicycles have been generously donated to us for people at the hospital to use and enjoy.

You’ll love caring for patients as much as we do

Supporting our patients to recover and lead full, happy lives is what we live for – as well as giving them the best possible experience while they’re here.

Our Patient Council gives them a say in how we do things at Cygnet Taunton. And our staff relations groups give our employees a voice too.

We’re also particularly proud of what we’ve achieved as part of Cygnet’s Music 2 Empower initiative, aiding recovery through music – and giving patients the opportunity to perform and express themselves in a creative, rewarding way.
