A training event had been booked in advance and a nurse identified to contribute to this. However, due to incidents on the unit the nurse couldn’t attend. However, Ellie then attended the training with no preparation or brief about the content of the training. Ellie contributed incredibly well to the training, with 22 people in attendance!
Elyese supported myself to take some of our patients to a local pantomime production of rapunzel. This required her to work late, which she does frequently when providing activity options. She is always willing to go the extra mile for our patients to provide them equal opportunities to engage in something meaningful.
Salina has supported one of our individuals on holiday twice this year. As a key worker she has put a lot in to supporting one of our individuals to build their confidence and experiences. This individual previously lacked confidence when accessing the community, let alone staying over night elsewhere – But Salina made it happen, twice! Well done
Assem and Tich have been working extra shifts with a resident who has gone through a crisis period and shown high levels of anxiety and disruption to their daily routine supporting the rest of the staff team . Together they have aimed to ensure his anxieties are well managed and try to keep him as engaged in meaningful activities within the home .
Ajibola continuously shows a high level of person-centred care. He is in a core team for one of our residents and is able to keep him engaged in activities and complete household skills. one of our residents struggle with getting his hair cut and Ajibola was able to complete this due to his caring and patient approach.
Sophie has always been passionate about healthcare. Her enthusiasm and dedication to it is identified with ease. Sophie has mentored me throughout my university degree and is a credit to Haywood ward and this hospital. Hawood ward team captain – and a true leader! Thank you for all the effort and energy you bring to the ward and towards my learning
Well done to Julie for doing Christmas shopping for 2 residents at Beckly.
Sufiah has taken her role of key worker above and beyond, especially whilst planning for Christmas. Sufiah has ensured that her Christmas shopping has all been planned and bought, keeping in contact with family that live outside the UK, sending them cards, updates and ensuring that they are updated with newsletters and messages 🙂
She will always put the residents first and ensure there needs are met, if they are unhappy she will spend 1 to 1 time with them and create various activities for them to complete to keep them occupied. She will ensure her team know what is expected of her and will ensure that all residents are involved, happy and in a safe and clean environment.
Today was a residents birthday. It was the residents first birthday with Cygnet. Jack worked hard to make it a special day for the resident. We went for a pub lunch and then organised a small party for the resident.
Following the candles blowing out, the resident ran up to Jack, hugged him and thanked him “For the best birthday ever”.
Dalton put in significant effort to ensure that all residents received their Xmas presents on time at Beacon House, this greatly enhanced the residents Xmas and all were happy on Xmas morning . Thomas spent 4 full days out Xmas shopping with another support worker and deserves to be rewarded for his hard work.
Ciara doesn’t mind giving a hand to support staff or resident that needs attention while also keeping tab on her administrative work.
I have noticed how happy the residents are whenever she comes around cottage to deliver her administrative role. She would leave everything, and dance with DN, take GD for her cigarette section. That’s leadership.
