A parent contacted us to say that, during a tough time, their daughter received excellent levels of support, and they too received support through updates saying ‘They have also been so supportive to us as parents, understanding our pain and anxiety and doing their best to relieve it with updates, compassion, and great humour!’ – Thanks!
Leah has recently returned from maternity leave and is it with the warmest welcome. Things have not been the same without Leah on our team and after going on maternity leave, the ward was really thrown in the deep end finding out first hand how much work Leah puts in without even breaking a sweat. She definitely is our daily intake of dopamine.
Over the Christmas period there was a shortage of chiefs, Sophie when finishing her shift went home and made a buffet for the patients to enjoy as she knew that the service would have struggled over tea. Thank you Sophie the patients, staff and service appreciate this and everything you do.
A service user of ours was having a really difficult day and had numerous incidents. They reported that Scott was really kind in his approach and showed empathy with his situation, despite having just engaged in aggression towards other staff. Scott is also kind and empathetic with patients, taking time to listen and understand them. Thanks Scott!
Bev recently started supporting one of our service users on their diet journey, starting a slimming world club at Langdale for them and customising a menu with all the foods they still enjoy but healthier versions.
The service user is doing brilliant so far on their journey.
