Cygnet Employee Referral Scheme – SLT, OT & Psychology only

Terms and Conditions

This scheme replaces any current referral schemes in place.

As a current employee you are the best ambassador for our organisation. We are looking to you to support our recruitment process by recommending your friends as future Cygnet Health Care Employees.

Employee referral schemes are increasingly popular because they work for organisations and for new recruits. Nearly half of businesses in the UK are currently investing in them.

Our Cygnet Employee Referral Scheme is aimed at current employees who would like to recommend a friend, relative or former work colleague to work with us.

WHO CAN/CAN’T MAKE A REFERRAL?

The scheme is open to all permanent employees with the following exceptions:

  • Any individual who has influence over, or is responsible for, the recruitment process or decision.
  • Regional Operation Directors, Regional Managers, Directors or Heads of Departments, Hospital Managers or Directors.
  • All staff working in the Recruitment Team.

WHO CAN/ CAN’T BE REFERRED?

  • This scheme is for permanent Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists or Psychologists.
  • The scheme is not applicable to Bank Workers or Locums.
  • The scheme is not for the referral of family members.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Employees must gain the permission of the candidate prior to making the referral.
  • Candidates must not be sourced through a third party such as an Agency.
  • The scheme is entirely discretionary, non-contractual and does not form part of the terms and conditions of employment.
  • Transfers and promotions are not included in the scheme.
  • The business reserves the right to withdraw, vary or amend the scheme at any time.
  • The business decision is final.
  • You must be in employment for any referral payments to be made.
  • Payments are only made for permanent referrals.
  • The referred candidate must indicate on the application form, who has referred them to the role.
  • The cost of the referral payment is absorbed by the site where the referred candidate will be working.

WHAT PAYMENT WILL I RECEIVE?

£500 in the next available pay run after the referred candidate has completed their first four weeks in post, followed by a further £1000 upon successful completion of their probationary period.

This payment will be paid on a pro-rata basis for part-time recruits.

HOW IS THE REFERRAL PAYMENT MADE?

The payments will be paid via payroll

REFERRAL PAYMENT WILL NOT BE PAID UNDER THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES

  • No payment will be made if the referred candidate has already been introduced through another source; for example recruitment agency, direct application or referred by another employee.
  • No payment will be made if the referred candidate fails to start in the role.
  • The second payment will not be made if the referred candidate fails to complete their probationary period.
  • Payment will not be made if the candidate gives notice prior to completion of the probationary period but will not leave the business until after the probationary period.

REFERRAL MUST BE MADE BY VIA ELECTRONIC REFERRAL DOCUMENT. THIS CAN BE FOUND ON MYCYGNET, OR ON THE CAREERS SITE;

REFERRALS MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS.

ALL REFERRALS WILL THEN HAVE APPROVAL SOUGHT BY THE RECRUITMENT TEAM FROM THE REGISTERED MANAGER OF THE SITE WHERE THE REFERRED CANDIDATE WILL BE WORKING, FOLLOWED BY FURTHER APPROVAL FROM THE RELEVANT O.D. OR M.D.

RETROSPECTIVE REFERRAL SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, AND PAYMENT WILL NOT BE MADE WHERE FORMS ARE COMPLETED AFTER THE CANDIDATE’S APPLICATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED. THIS WILL BE CROSS-REFERENCED WITH THE APPLICATION TRACKING SYSTEM BY THE RECRUITMENT TEAM.

KEY POINTS OF REFERRAL SCHEME

  • eferral scheme is open to all permanent employees except those stated in the guidance notes.
  • Referral payment will be made in two instalments – when the recommended candidate begins and on completion of their probationary period.
  • Payments may be liable to deductions.
  • Retrospective claims will not be accepted.
  • Referrals can be made for live vacancies and speculative referrals made for future vacancies.
  • Candidates being referred to vacancies will undertake the recruitment process for the role they are applying for along with other applicants.
