Cygnet Hospital Clifton

Cygnet Hospital Clifton is a 25 bed specialist low secure service for men with a personality disorder, who also present with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours. The hospital is set out across two wards; Ancaria Ward is the admissions/ initial treatment ward, which offers a defined pathway through to Acorn Ward, which has a focus on rehabilitation, in preparation for moving on into the community or supported living.

Cygnet Maple House is our new 16 bed highly specialised service providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for women with personality disorder and complex needs. Rehabilitation is provided in a therapeutic setting, with a level of security matched to individual needs. The aim of the treatment, rehabilitation and re-socialisation programme is to prepare the individuals in our care either for transfer to an environment of lesser security, or for a life in the community.

Our facilities and multi-disciplinary treatment programme are designed to assist individuals with their return to community living. Cygnet Sherwood House is located in Rainworth, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire with good local transport links to Mansfield, Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield. We have plenty of community facilities nearby and also lots of places of interest including Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood.

Sherwood Lodge

Cygnet Sherwood Lodge

At Cygnet Sherwood Lodge, we support 26 men with learning disabilities and associated complex needs who may also have behaviours that challenge. The service is located in the heart of the community just a short distance from an extensive array of local amenities including leisure centres, social clubs, shops and restaurants. We want the men in our care to make their own choices and live as independently as they are able to. To achieve this, our in-house Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) supports them with our learning disability model of care. This offers support from the nursing team, psychology, psychiatry, speech and language and occupational therapy.

Our integrated male care pathway includes Litchurch Ward, our low secure ward, and the Wyvern Unit, our mental health rehabilitation service. Alvaston Ward, our specialist female personality disorder service, is one of the leading services of its kind in the East and West Midlands. Service users have access to external secure courtyards, and therapy and leisure facilities, including a fully equipped gym, art room, IT classroom and therapy kitchen, which contribute to a comprehensive package of care.
