Social Worker roles

In this role, your day-to-day involves developing links between service users and their social networks, including family, friends and carers. Also, you’ll work closely with your team to encourage recovery and social inclusion for the people in our care.

The hospital is built to meet the latest national specifications for improving mental health within a therapeutic environment. Situated amongst the soft fields and meadows of the Tyne valley, which is known for its abbey, leafy parks, and mix of independent shops, the hospital will provide an important and much-needed service for service users within the North East of England.

The hospital provides a safe and secure place to aid recovery alongside offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease like Huntington’s Disease, a placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms.

Cygnet Victoria House

Cygnet Victoria House is a 26 bed mental health inpatient service for men. The service, split across two wards, provides a safe and stabilising environment for men who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. The ethos of our service is about assessing and treating service users in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion. With a focus on stabilisation, we will support service users to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent life back in the community.
