We are seeking two experienced project managers. One for business systems and one for clinical systems.

These roles require excellent project management expertise, a solid understanding of business processes, and the ability to manage complex projects that align with the organisation's strategic objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders across departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Delivery:

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of digital systems projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, resource allocation, and budgets.
  • Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and go-live.
  • Ensure that all projects meet their intended outcomes, timelines, and budgets while adhering to PMO governance standards.

Stakeholder Management & Engagement:

  • Work collaboratively with business, clinical, administrative, IT stakeholders and external vendors to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Regular Communication: Provide clear and consistent communication with stakeholders at all levels, including progress reports, risk updates, and change management plans.
  • Executive Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status updates to senior leadership and executive teams, highlighting risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.

Risk & Issue Management:

  • Risk Identification: Identify potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise impact on project timelines and outcomes.
  • Issue Resolution: Lead the resolution of any project-related issues, working with cross-functional teams to ensure problems are addressed efficiently and effectively.

System Implementation:

  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with system vendors, ensuring successful system configuration, customisation, and integration with existing healthcare & business infrastructure.
  • System Testing & Validation: Oversee the testing, validation, and quality assurance processes to ensure that the system functions as expected and meets business,  clinical and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Migration: Collaborate with data teams to manage the secure migration of required data from legacy systems to the new system, ensuring data integrity.

Training & User Adoption:

  • Training Program Development: Work with HR and training teams to develop comprehensive training programs for system users, ensuring successful adoption.
  • User Support: Lead the development of user support structures, such as help desks and super-user networks, to ensure ongoing support post-implementation.

Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the system complies with healthcare regulations and standards (e.g. GDPR, NHS Digital standards, clinical safety) throughout the project lifecycle.

Post-Implementation Support:

  • Post-Go-Live Monitoring: Oversee the go-live process and post-implementation phase, ensuring that any issues or challenges are promptly addressed and that the system is fully operational.
  • Benefits Realisation: Track and report on the benefits realised from the system implementation, including improved patient outcomes, operational efficiencies, and enhanced compliance.

Key Requirements:

Experience:

  • Business Systems Project Manager – 3+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on delivering business systems in a health care environment, such as ERP, CRM, HR systems, or financial systems (exposure to Workday would be beneficial).
  • Clinical Systems Project Manager – Minimum of 3 years of experience managing large-scale healthcare IT projects, with a proven track record of delivering clinical systems in complex healthcare environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects within a structured PMO environment.
  • Experience working with cloud-based business systems and SaaS platforms is desirable.

Education:

  • Relevant project management certifications (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, Agile) are highly desirable.
  • Certifications related to business systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, Salesforce) are advantageous.

Skills:

  • Business Systems Project Manager – Strong understanding of business processes across HR, finance, and Operations.
  • Clinical Systems Project Manager – Deep understanding of clinical systems, including system design, implementation, and integration in healthcare settings.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence clinical, IT, and executive teams.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proficiency in risk assessment, mitigation, and issue resolution in large-scale IT projects.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with healthcare IT infrastructure, data migration, interoperability standards, and system testing processes.

Ruth has been amazing today.
As a trainer the motorway was closed so I was 30 minutes late to the training i was running.
As soon as I walked in Ruth helped with making sure that the group had everything they needed. even finding some people who had gone to the wrong place.
With Ruth’s help i managed to get back on track with the course. thanks
