Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital is a 39-bedded hospital with three wards consisting of a acute male ward, a PICU ward and a high dependency rehabilitation ward.
The successful candidate will join a team comprised of qualified, trainee, assistant and/or honorary psychologists. We are seeking a strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of patients at the service by assisting the team with the following:
- Assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal / written)
- Clinical formulation and implementing care plans for psychological treatment
- Planning, delivering and evaluating individual / group programmes
- Administration, audit, research and service development
- Consultation, Leadership and Management
- Supervision and Training
Your Day-to-Day…
- You’ll be working 40 hours a week
- Work as a team Psychologist within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
- Carry out psychological assessments & provide therapy to individuals & groups
- Collaboratively develop care plans with the MDT
- Provide training & supervision to colleagues, & consultation to teams
- Evaluate the service, contribute to its development & carry out clinical research
- Disseminate outcomes via conference presentations and publications.
We are looking for someone who is…
- A HCPC registered Forensic, Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
- Previous experience within a clinical/forensic and/or PICU/ACUTE/REHAB settings
- Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema, CBT, DBT, EMDR
- Knowledge and experience of risk assessments (e.g. HCR-20)
- Trained in specialised assessments such (e.g. WAIS-IV, MCMI-IV, IPDE)
- Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending and drug & alcohol problems.
