We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Training Lead to support the successful implementation, adoption, and ongoing training of clinical and business systems within a large organisation. As part of the Digital Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering effective training programs that equip clinical and administrative staff with the knowledge and confidence to use these systems efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT training within healthcare and business environments, with expertise in developing training materials, delivering interactive sessions, and supporting end-user adoption of digital solutions.
Please note: This is a Hybrid role working 2-3 days from our Birmingham Offices
Key Responsibilities
Training Program Development & Delivery:
- Design, develop, and implement a structured training program tailored to a diverse workforce, including clinical, administrative, and technical staff.
- Deliver engaging training sessions using various methods such as face-to-face workshops, e-learning modules, virtual sessions, and one-on-one coaching.
- Ensure training materials are up to date, aligned with best practices and policy changes, and accessible to all staff members.
- Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to empower local champions and Super Users.
User Support & Adoption:
- Conduct skills assessments to identify gaps in user knowledge and adapt training accordingly.
- Provide hands-on support during system go-live phases, ensuring users are comfortable and confident in using the clinical and business systems.
- Create user-friendly guides, quick reference materials, FAQs and video tutorials, ensuring content is simple, clear and accessible, to support continuous learning.
- Offer post-implementation training and refresher sessions to enhance system adoption and proficiency.
- Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to reinforce best practices in system use.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Learning & Development team, project managers, change managers, IT teams, and organisational leaders to ensure training aligns with overall implementation strategies.
- Provide on-the-ground support at key sites, helping users navigate challenges in real-time.
- Support the establishment of a ‘Super User’ network to promote peer-to-peer learning and local troubleshooting.
- Act as a point of contact for user feedback, escalating technical or workflow issues to the appropriate teams for resolution.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to increase confidence, drive engagement and reduce resistance to new systems.
Training Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:
- Develop assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and user confidence levels, improving training materials and system usability as required
- Analyse feedback, competency assessments and adoption metrics to refine training approaches and address emerging learning needs.
- Stay up to date with system updates, ensuring training materials and strategies are adjusted accordingly.
- Maintain knowledge of best practice in digital learning, healthcare IT training and system implementation.
Key Skills & Experience Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in IT systems training, preferably within healthcare or business environments.
- Experience delivering training for clinical and business IT solutions.
- Proven ability to design and implement engaging training programs for diverse user groups.
- Experience working within a PMO or digital transformation team is desirable.
Skills:
- Training Expertise: Strong ability to design, develop, and deliver training to non technical and technical audiences.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work collaboratively across teams to support successful system adoption.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and support clinical and administrative staff.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with clinical and business IT systems and applications.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify learning challenges and adapt training to address specific user needs, ensuring successful adoption of clinical and business systems across the organisation.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of workflows, data management, and compliance standards relevant to clinical and business systems.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to assess training effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in training delivery, such as TAP (Training Accreditation Programme), CIPD Learning & Development, or equivalent, are desirable.
- A relevant IT or business qualification is advantageous.
- Experience working within NHS, healthcare, or similar business organisations.
- Knowledge of compliance, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and operational safety considerations.
- Experience developing e-learning modules using digital tools.
