Full Time
£30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience

Cygnet was established in 1988. Since then we have developed a wide range of health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism and learning disabilities within the UK.

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Training Lead to support the successful implementation, adoption, and ongoing training of clinical and business systems within a large organisation. As part of the Digital Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering effective training programs that equip clinical and administrative staff with the knowledge and confidence to use these systems efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT training within healthcare and business environments, with expertise in developing training materials, delivering interactive sessions, and supporting end-user adoption of digital solutions.

Please note: This is a Hybrid role working 2-3 days from our Birmingham Offices

Key Responsibilities

Training Program Development & Delivery:

  • Design, develop, and implement a structured training program tailored to a diverse workforce, including clinical, administrative, and technical staff.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions using various methods such as face-to-face workshops, e-learning modules, virtual sessions, and one-on-one coaching.
  • Ensure training materials are up to date, aligned with best practices and policy changes, and accessible to all staff members.
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to empower local champions and Super Users.

User Support & Adoption:

  • Conduct skills assessments to identify gaps in user knowledge and adapt training accordingly.
  • Provide hands-on support during system go-live phases, ensuring users are comfortable and confident in using the clinical and business systems.
  • Create user-friendly guides, quick reference materials, FAQs and video tutorials, ensuring content is simple, clear and accessible, to support continuous learning.
  • Offer post-implementation training and refresher sessions to enhance system adoption and proficiency.
  • Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to reinforce best practices in system use.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development team, project managers, change managers, IT teams, and organisational leaders to ensure training aligns with overall implementation strategies.
  • Provide on-the-ground support at key sites, helping users navigate challenges in real-time.
  • Support the establishment of a ‘Super User’ network to promote peer-to-peer learning and local troubleshooting.
  • Act as a point of contact for user feedback, escalating technical or workflow issues to the appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to increase confidence, drive engagement and reduce resistance to new systems.

Training Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and user confidence levels, improving training materials and system usability as required
  • Analyse feedback, competency assessments and adoption metrics to refine training approaches and address emerging learning needs.
  • Stay up to date with system updates, ensuring training materials and strategies are adjusted accordingly.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practice in digital learning, healthcare IT training and system implementation.

Key Skills & Experience Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT systems training, preferably within healthcare or business environments.
  • Experience delivering training for clinical and business IT solutions.
  • Proven ability to design and implement engaging training programs for diverse user groups.
  • Experience working within a PMO or digital transformation team is desirable.

Skills:

  • Training Expertise: Strong ability to design, develop, and deliver training to non technical and technical audiences.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work collaboratively across teams to support successful system adoption.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and support clinical and administrative staff.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with clinical and business IT systems and applications.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify learning challenges and adapt training to address specific user needs, ensuring successful adoption of clinical and business systems across the organisation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of workflows, data management, and compliance standards relevant to clinical and business systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess training effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in training delivery, such as TAP (Training Accreditation Programme), CIPD Learning & Development, or equivalent, are desirable.
  • A relevant IT or business qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience working within NHS, healthcare, or similar business organisations.
  • Knowledge of compliance, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and operational safety considerations.
  • Experience developing e-learning modules using digital tools.
