Cygnet Hospital Beckton is a service for women with complex mental health needs. Situated in the East End of London, the hospital has four different specialist wards including PICU, acute admissions and personality disorder services.

We are looking for a friendly and experienced Bank Receptionist to join our team on an ad hoc basis.

This is a zero hour contract covering the rota in staff absence for annual leave and sickness. The reception area is staffed from 7am am to Midnight, 7 days a week, including Bank Holidays. A shift varies between 6.5hrs to 13hrs. The earliest start time is 7.00am and latest finish time is 00.00hrs. We are ideally looking to cover the hours between 7am  – 15:00 but also as and when needed.

You will be working in a fast paced environment, so the ability to process information quickly in a calm and controlled manner at all times is essential.

The ideal candidate must be adaptable and well presented with a friendly disposition with excellent communication skills and have at least 1 years’ experience working in a similar role with excellent communication & customer care skills. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.

You’re Day-to-Day…

  • Provide a professional, welcoming reception experience
  • Greet visitors & notify the appropriate member of staff of their arrival
  • Ensure visitors sign in & out, and that patients leaving & returning are recorded appropriately
  • Answer & transfer all incoming calls and take messages where appropriate
  • Sort & distribute post, and assist with general office duties as required
  • Keep the reception area clean & tidy
  • Promote the safety & security of all site users and ensure all staff comply with security protocols.

You are…

  • An experienced receptionist with at least 1 or more years of experience working as a Receptionist
  • Organised, naturally helpful and good at multitasking
  • Computer literate – including Windows/Word/Excel/Outlook or equivalent
  • Knowledgeable of telephone systems
  • Polite, friendly & approachable with excellent c
  • GCSE Maths and English qualified, with a good level of numeracy and literacy
  • Diligent & accurate, with an eye for detail and an understanding of confidentiality.
