We are seeking an Activity Co-ordinator to plan and deliver activities for our female psychiatric intensive care unit based at Cygnet Hospital Beckton.

Your Role

The activity co-ordinator involves planning, co-ordinating and delivering personalised activity on Svanna Ward (female PICU). This will comprise of diversional activities and leading celebration and theme days.

You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary staff to ensure safe and effective activity provision.

The successful candidate will be a proactive, empathetic, resourceful individual with excellent motivational skills. The post holder will be expected to provide individual and group activities. The individual will be offered regular supervision, guidance and support for their professional and personal development.

You will be working 37.5hours per week on a rota basis and need to be flexible to cover a 7 day service including late shifts and weekends.

The Service

Cygnet Hospital Beckton is a gender specific hospital for women with complex mental health needs. Situated in the East End of London, the hospital has four different specialist wards including PICU, acute admissions and personality disorder services.

Our aim is to support individual service user recovery and integration back into the community, as quickly as possible. We have a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and offer a very broad range of therapies. Our facilities include a fully equipped, air-conditioned gym, and Recovery College space for all wards to access.
