Welcome to the FAQs section, this page is designed to provide quick answers to common questions about us and our recruitment process.

Applications

  • Can I apply for Cygnet if I have a criminal record?

    Yes you can, you must disclose all and any offences during your application process, and then this can be discussed with the Hiring Manager.

    The Hiring Manager for the role will have autonomy to risk assess this record as they see fit.

  • What happens after I’ve submitted my Application?

    Thank you for applying for a role at Cygnet. We’ll help you through the application process and keep you informed. The next steps after an application are:

    • A member of the recruitment team will make contact with you within 24 to 48 hours 
    • They will discuss your CV and the role in detail with you including salary, hours and location
    • If your CV is suitable you will be shortlisted for the Hiring Manager to review 
    • Interviews will then be arranged
    • After the interview you will be notified via phone or email if you are successful or not
    • Once successful and you have accepted the offer your file will be passed over to the onboarding team to complete all checks required
  • What’s the process after I’ve accepted a Job offer?

    Congratulations on accepting the offer! We look forward to welcoming you to the Cygnet team.

    After accepting the offer you’ll be invited to our onboarding portal to submit the necessary forms and confirm your contract, ensuring all relevant pre-employment checks have been taken for our patients safety. 

    To ensure a smooth process please provide the correct documents and valid employment references. Cygnet requires references for any role in your employment history up to 2-5 years depending on the job you’ve applied for. 

    Once all checks are completed your start date will be confirmed.

Interviews

  • How should I prepare for my interview?

    When the recruitment team books you in for your interview you will receive an email with confirmation, on this email there will be a link that you can click on that will take you directly to the service you have applied for. That link allows you to research the service and gather what you know about it, also depending on the role there will be a job description attached to get a better understanding of the role.

  • What will the interview involve?

    Your interview will last between 45 mins to 1 hour. It will consist of the interview panel getting to know you and what skills you can bring to the role as well as some formal interview questions.

    You will also have some time to ask any questions that you may have. After the interview, you may get the chance to have a look around the service whilst you are there.

  • What training do Cygnet Offer?

    During the first weeks of your employment, you will receive a specified, job related Induction to learn about our Company, our policies and our service.

    Mandatory training is required specific to the service and role you’ve applied for.

General Questions

  • Do Cygnet offer sponsorship?

    Cygnet do hold a sponsorship licence and so sponsorship is available for nurses, doctors and our multi-disciplinary team, this is subject to the service you apply for and is not a guaranteed option.
