Dianne goes above and beyond the expectations of her role. Her genuine interest in the patients she supports is highly evident. I have seen an increase in patient participation of activity when Dianne leads activities. Dianne clearly loves her role and her passion is very clear.
Joanne has arranged numerous events held within the units ranging from Im a celebrity, St Patrick’s day, Day at the races etc. These have been 100% attended by all our ladies who really got in to the day by dressing for the occasions. This is over and above her job role.
Alex has been supporting the team at a site where there is currently an OT vacancy. She uses her wealth of knowledge and skills to support both myself and the OTA to ensure that all service users receive a high standard of OT input despite the vacancy. Alex goes above & beyond consistently, demonstrating her helpful, hard working and caring nature.
I am a student nurse currently completing my placement on South Hampton Ward. Since this was my first time on the ward, I was apprehensive before starting my placement. Karla taught me so much and showed me kindness, patience and empathy throughout my training on the ward. Karla is an exceptional nurse.
Shelby started her career at Cygnet as a support worker, qualifying as a nurse in January 2023 recently passing her preceptorship and she is smashing it. She has turned into an amazing nurse who has good boundaries, cracking communication skills, works incredibly hard to ensure her work is done and already supports the team amazingly. Well done!
We have recently had a change over of new staff and the allocations have been difficult to rotate due to new starters gaining experience. Alex volunteered himself to go with one of the challenging service users multiple times. Alex always brings positive morale and is willing to put himself forward for the company.
Sarah qualified as a Nurse 18 months ago and since working at Nield House has grown into her role from a Nurse to a Senior Staff Nurse and more recently covering for management during leave. Sarah is able to positively lead the team by acting as a role model and leading by example. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Sarah and she is an asset.
Keeley stayed at work after starting at 13:00 through the night to support her team due to the acuity on the ward and completed a night shift. She has shown great passion for the patients and ensuring the safety at the detriment of herself.
Due to a necessity in the nursing team Katie has been taking on extra roles that are not normally within her remit. She has been conducting ward rounds, morning meetings and other nursing aspects that she has not only completed she has excelled at.
Tessa was supporting not only a challenging resident that is going through a crisis, she also showed amazing resilience and pass this on to the team which helped the team feel more confident. She is a credit to Outwood.
Luke always works well with the residents but specifically was seen to be doing some great work with encouraging a resident to try new activities and making it fun in the garden, as well as getting other staff involved. It was great to see that. Keep it up Luke.
Deanna works on the ward as a SMHSW, as well as being a part time trainer for SI. Deanna will ensure she has the time and flexibility to train others and is often asked to work within the training department last minute alongside her full time role to ensure that all staff are receiving the standard of training they deserve.
