Lloyd planned a fantastic birthday party for one of his residents, he also invited residents from pines to join cherry tree house for a large birthday party at Shirbrook welfare where we had football, bouncy castle and disco. Lloyd also arranged family to attend and pizza for all. it was such a special birthday and fun for all. first class A*
Mandy is a superstar, she is an amazing passionate staff member who goes above and beyond to provide fun activities, she is selfless recently created a flower bed with the YP which is beautiful, she completes this or similar so passionately sometimes in her own time. Has amazing energy which is greatly appreciated by the YP and all of us.
As a long standing staff member who has a fantastic rapport with all residents at Kirkside, Caroline has supported 3 separate individuals to go on holiday’s 3 times throughout 2022. Caroline has ensured all 3 of these residents had a brilliant time at destination’s of their choice and went above and beyond to make these as memorable as possible!
Martin is one of the most hard working support workers on Griffin ward, he comes into work and brings an air of confidence and reliability with him. Nothing is too much trouble for him to do.
He will often be found working his days off as a driver to ensure that the Young people on the ward are able to access their S17 leave.
Lisa is more than a domestic, she is always on hand around the unit to help with support when needed. Lisa also has spent time building a good reppor with a residents who struggles with personal care, and now is always able to assist that resident in doing so, and as a result the resident now goes out to the shops more often gaining more independen
Claire is not just the chef at pines, she is always on hand to help support the residents with any needs. She spends time with all the residents and is always eager to take residents out for walks or trips. Claire also spent time decorating the unit for Halloween and putting together games for all the residents. We would be lost with out her.
Chris smashed it with helping us with a big problem with our oversea nurses that would’ve meant they would have had to have slept in a hotel until their accomodation was sorted. He came to the rescue and really went out of his way so it was sorted before the estate agent closed, he literally worked a miracle – thanks chris!
After being involved in a very difficult and emotional incident, Georgia sat with me, comforted me, reassured me, and showed so much compassion and empathy. Georgia regularly displays this level of care for others, both staff and service users. Having this support system is so important, and Georgia is a key part of that system in Outwood.
Rachel has been observed responding to incidents on both wards at Nield House, offering support and reassurance during challenging and potentially distressing times. Rachel goes above and beyond to support staff, including offering training, emotional support, debriefs post incidents and a light hearted laugh where needed.
Kai has demonstrated his ability to adapt quickly and effectively to his new role. Kai requires flexibility in his role as the needs of the patients are regularly changing. He excels at thinking on the spot to solve problems and ensures all required tasks are completed to an high standard within a timely manner.
Ellice is a fundamental part of the team. She has supported the ward from when the hospital opened, building a safe and positive working environment. Ellice has always been available to offer advice and support throughout. She has worked incredibly hard, consistently, to build the ward to the standard that provides high quality care.
In the 10 years that Katie has worked at the hospital she has never lost the fight and spirit she brings with her to a shift every day. Katie advocates for service users when they might not feel able to speak up themselves and continues to be a joy to work with even on the tough days. Both service users and staff appreciate the Katie’s hard work.
