After a really hard shift, Kym came to take over. She recognised that I looked stressed and deflated. She offered to have a debrief with me where I was able to tell her all my issues from the shift. She validated my concerns and suggested of ways to deal with these; which meant I went home stress free.
Tessa and Dean supported a resident to go for a procedure at the hospital which they were very anxious for. Tessa and Dean helped this resident to complete the procedure, offering constant reassurance, staying by their side throughout. Tessa and Dean showed true compassion and offered comfort during a worrying time, and the resident was incredibly grateful.
Katie has been moved from the Dunes to Hudson with very little notice. She has not complained about this once. She’s hard working, passionate and gives everyone her time. She has taken on the challenges of a complicated ward with new staff and patients. Yet shows up for work every time with a smile and willingness to work, she is a credit to Hudson
Ayesha is always striving to find new activities for residents to do. She encourages them to try new things and go on so many different adventures. She works hard to organise activities whenever starting a shift, big or small, and boosts their confidence with going to new and unfamiliar places. It’s always a fun day with Ayesha! Thank you!
Nicola has tried really hard to make this time of year really fun and engaging for our service users. She has been a real cheerleader in encouraging all to get involved in the fantastic Christmas garden decorations and activities. She has brought sparkle to a difficult time of year for Litchurch Ward.
over the festive period Joao has done many activities to build up to Christmas such as a Christmas jumper day, decorating the hallways and getting Santa to come to Kirkside.
Chris has worked at the fountains for a number of years, and has quietly worked in the back ground supporting new and old staff on the unit.
He is the person staff go to for shift swaps and he always helps and supports his colleges where he can.
Chris has built positive relationships and supports staff with his caring attitude and reliability.
Emma is a great credit to the team, recently had some bad incidents within the service and Emma has been a very good team player and hard work throughout her shifts. Supporting Service user in hospital when behaviours have been very heightened and staying over hours to help the service.
Thank you and Well done Emma! 🙂
Jon is tireless in his dedication to his team, often supporting out of hours to ensure staffing levels are correct, his work ethic is amazing and nothing is too much for him.
He will take on extra duties to support me and the team even when he is not feeling his best and often staying late.
The team couldn’t ask for a better role model.
Samina never hesitates to support other disciplines when needed, most recently she has been covering her own shifts as well as coming in on her days off to support the OT team due to absences – Samina is passionate about service users she works with and wanted to ensure that activities can still happen and run as normal.
I have had recent times on the ward where in an acute crisis, Thanise has been immediately there to support any member of staff and responded effectively and safely to any situation that arises. I always trust that she’ll be there to support me or any other members of the team.
Amy (along with a number of colleagues) collected a large box of food items and a collection for my family following a recent illness within the family. This meant a lot to my family during a difficult time, and it is nice to feel appreciated and loved by the whole team. Amy goes above and beyond to organise events, birthdays and collections.
