Eniola and Lisa are both new to Outwood and recently supported a resident to bakery project at Kirkside for the first time. Whilst there another individual was having a difficult time and they were both able to help involve them, reassure them and ultimately turned his day around because of this .
When Gracie was asked if she would be able to stay longer past her finishing time so a resident can attend a late evening birthday party, she agreed to do so with a smile. She always goes above and beyond to make sure residents achieve their goals and activities. Gracie is a wonderful carer and brings a lot of energy and positivity to the service.
Olivia started as a clinical nurse recently & I would like to congratulate her for handling difficult and high pressured situations on the ward in a very professional way. She recently was leading a strenuous incident where despite of getting assaulted herself, she was able to risk assess the situation and manage everything on the ward very well.
Recently we have had a breakthrough in communication with a resident who usually refused staff support a lot. Caitlin and Charlotte have been vital for this. They have given him 1:1 support to help form positive relationships and then gave feedback to the whole team. The resident now engages so much better and the staff team feel more confident.
Since Shane started, Kirkside’s environment has improved hugely. Shane receives great feedback from on site staff as well as Colleagues completing site visits/audits. On Friday 26th April, Shane stayed until late without hesitation to ensure the fire alarm engineers left the system running and all staff and service users were kept safe!
I’m nominating Taryn for being a good and supportive acting team leader and going above and beyond to support staff during their periods of ongoing shadowing. She has been our point of call and has asked/ checked up staff regularly to make sure everything is going well with everyone. I’m grateful for her care and support in Outwood
One of our Residents doesn’t like crowded place & doesn’t allow anyone close in his personal space, so it is unsuitable for him to go to Hairdresser to have his haircut. Sean is his keyworker & has built such a good rapport that He will allow Sean to cut his hair with no issue. Other residents has started to request Sean to cut their hair as Well.
Always shows up and is approachable and helpful. Efficient morning handover and would email me if she spots anyone who needs OT input. Very proactive and great team player!
Kelly is energetic and so committed with her work. Yesterday we arranged an Easter hunting at the garden for the residents and Kelly smashed it, she really worked hard and made it fun. Kelly is a hardworking and diligent personnel who always make job easy working around her. One of the strong women that I know.
Iffy, Ife and Ike have been working with a new resident at Gotts Park and supporting him to settle in and they have done a fantastic job, creating a positive routine for him and the resident trusts the staff more each day. They have even opened a Gotts Park Barber shop to support him with having haircuts regular, keep up the great work!
