Kerry is the HR Business Partner for the Yorkshire Region, when asked to support Cygnet Bierley through their recent challenging 6 months, without hesitation based herself there 4 days per week and spent time away from her family overnight and long days to support the site. Kerry did this with a passion to support the staff and patients. Well done
During the July heatwave, DH arranged for staff to purchase a paddling pool for the residents. However, the pump did not have the right attachment to blow the pool up. DH and his colleague manually blew up the paddling pool with their mouths to enable the residents to use it and the residents had a great time.
AH was working with his colleague during the heatwave and arranged for a paddling pool for the residents. However the attachment for the pump was not suitable and so AH and his colleague blew up the paddling pool with their mouth while following IPC procedures. It took about 2 hours to blow up but the residents did enjoy using the pool.
Brian was called to an emergency at very short notice in Preston. Brian supported the service user back to Beckly and worked with them for the remainder of there shift. Brian was very supportive and covered the staff which were originally with the service user to give them a break.
Ant was an agency member of staff on his first day ever in care . He was so nervous he was visibly shaking every time anyone spoke to him. Ant proved himself to be like a sponge from the moment he started and his willingness to work and understanding for non verbal and is now one of the strongest team members we have and rely on .
We have a service user that expressed that they like to do DIY and gardening and requested that they help out with maintenance. Nigel has welcomed the opportunity to include the service user with some maintenance work and supports him in managing the gardens. Nigel has been a great mentor to the service user.
Lideya has shown empathy throughout the time the ward was lockdown due to having a covid outbreak. She understood the need of the individuals who were self isolating and supported through a tough time for the service users
Jade has undertaken the Hospital Admin role at short notice to support the service until the new admin starts. Jade is always flexible, undertaking SSW role before being promoted, developing staff allocations to ensure our ladies have the right people with them doing the right things. She actively does anything if it improves the service and care.
I am nominating Louise for flexibility as she is a hospital driver but she goes above and beyond by carrying out any tasks asked of her whether it is delivering patient items or clinical stock she never complains and is always willing to help.
Maisie has started a Nursing Apprenticeship through Cygnet alongside her Education Officer role. She is being amazing with fitting all her work in and working flexibly so that everything is done.
Jodie constantly comes up with days for service users and staff to get involved in and have fun, she recently assisted in arranging a BBQ for all to enjoy. We are all looking forward to the world cup month she is going to organise!
Suzanne has been with Cygnet 3 years however has moved onto a new ward in the past year. Within this time she has adapted to the change of service users and also built up her confidence which has shown through. Suzanne continues to be an valued member of the team and continues to grow.
