James is a maintenance man at Cygnet Cedar Vale. We recently admitted a service user who’s parents informed us that he likes to do odd jobs. James has taken the time to support the patient to help him complete small maintenance tasks which the patient takes great pride in. He is now paid as a therapy job and his incidents have decreased. Great job
Over the years Andy has always risen to a challenge to support any random request people have thrown at him. Most recently he has sourced a vehicle to be converted into a float for the Cygnet sponsored float at Manchester Pride. He is so resourceful, always finds a way to get things done, without any fuss and with a positive outcome. Thank you
Melissa recently took the step in changing wards and has been working on the new acute service. Dealing with a different group of patients than what she has previously worked with she has flourished in her job role and used the resources available to her to provide the best quality care possible, despite caring for more challenging patients.
Jessica is a support worker who uses the time that she is not on observations and engagements to encourage individuals to engage in activities. She makes activities fun to distract individuals who are responding to unseen stimuli. She reassures individuals tin our care to make them feel at ease.
During a recent COVID19 outbreak Gordon volunteered to support within the positive residents unit for the entire week to help minimise the potential spread of infection and maintain good IPC standards. This act was massively supportive towards the residents and support team. Thankyou Gordon! 🙂

Coral excels in her role as a ward manager on a daily basis. She manages a large team in a supportive and effective way, ensuring everyone feels included and confident in their roles on the ward. Coral goes the extra mile for both service users and staff frequently and creates a happy and safe atmosphere for everyone.
Carla often helps support other admins in the region, this can be going over to other sites and working alongside the admins, covering in absence and helping with pay review letters in some of the bigger hospitals.
Carla is always happy to help
James worked with a new resident, who required safe holds for his medication. James encouraged the resident to self medicate which stopped all safe holds to be used. Promoting his dignity and independence, this has removed a restrictive practice within our unit.
Ric is employed at the bakery and offered to facilitate a day trip for residents to the seaside. This was at short notice, when the service encountered a lack of drivers. Both staff and residents had a lovely day. One of the residents said ” he is brilliant happy and fun to work with”.
During a very challenging time at Marion House due to a new admission, Jane has taken the time to make sure all staff are supported at work and always kept a smile on her face even though she was finding days tough too. She always puts her staff team before herself. Jane you are amazing and we would all be lost without you.
Alison has supported me recently with many reviews at short notice and has been very flexible and accommodating. Alison has been a huge support, she is hardworking and an asset to the quality team.
