I have personally watched Mariam work endless hours, come in on her days off, to create the culture we have today at Kirkside Lodge. One which is now founded on truth, integrity, passion, trust and grace for one another.
The teams are united in her cause and vision, and the service users are living full independent, happy lives.
George showed support with a service user and their family. He took a call from a family member in distress because their loved one had phoned them, then spent time supporting them. He stayed late, phoning family back to support them. Informing them of how the service user was. Then further supported by meeting them on a visit the next day.
Janine is a very bubbly upbeat staff member who is always positive and happy to be at work. Despite have a medical situation and requiring emergency surgery, Janine was keen and couldn’t wait to get back to work. The home felt very empty without her there and her bubbly personality.
In my time at Ellen Mhor Anthony seems to work tirelessly making sure the residents have the best life possible and is always on hand to give support to make this happen. plus he also takes time with each resident to find out what they want from life here at Ellen Mhor. Residents here also know that Anthonys door is always open to chat at any time.
Natalie always displays a can do attitude. There have been operational pressures recently where Natalie has not thought twice about offering the support from her region to other regions in Healthcare North. Natalie is a true team player and an inspiring leader who supports in times of crisis when the business needs it most – without hesitation.
Anna is key worker for one of the residents and always goes that extra mile to support her and communicate with managers and MDT the best way to support her and to provide important information to all, also asking for advice as required. Keep up the great work Anna.
Charlotte has helped in organising upcoming events at Beacon House e.g. Children in need etc. Charlotte in her own time as contacted local businesses for donations to help raise money at the event. Her input into these events as created a positive buzz amongst the staff team and residents at Beacon House. Well Done Charlotte!!!
Meena has demonstrated her passion by volunteering to be a multi-cultural network ambassador. Meena is keen to celebrate the diversity and create an inclusive environment and she did a fantastic job in organising a coffee morning in honour of black history month. She has also lead a co-produced project to improve the multi-faith room for patients.
Matthew faced challenges with transport when supporting a resident to return back home after completing a hospital appointment as the home mini bus was unavailable due to other commitment. The taxi was incompatible for the resident. Resident was getting agitated waiting. Matthew pushed resident’s wheel chair for 1.5 miles, Returned home safely .
Sophie has not been qualified long, but we had a death here at our hospital and Sophie did amazing. She has dealt with a lot as a relatively new qualified nurse, yet she is amazing and one of the strongest and kindest people I know.
Ceilidh is always happy to support any staff member. She will go out of her way to make a brew and spend 10 minutes with them having a chat to ensure they are feeling ok. She is a comfort to many at Nield House and a lot of people go to her for advice.
Sarah is an incredibly hard worker who is always the first person to raise her hand and take on more when times are tough for her team. She leads by example and constantly goes over and above what is required from her role. In what can be a thankless job she shows resilience and understanding. Sarah is an asset to Cygnet and to Payroll.
