About Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke

Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke provides care and support for men and women with mental health needs, including emergency admissions, rehabilitation pathways and specialist support for individuals with complex mental health presentations.

Set within more than 16 acres of landscaped grounds and overlooking the Bristol Channel, our peaceful beachside location helps us provide a calm, therapeutic and recovery-focused environment. The hospital offers a broad range of therapies including CBT, Schema Therapy, EMDR and DBT, supporting service users to build confidence, develop coping strategies and work towards their personal goals.

About the Role

This role involves working 12-hour shifts, with a mixture of day and night shifts.

Pat rate: £13.45 per hour.

As a Care & Support Worker, you will support service users with their day-to-day needs, emotional wellbeing and recovery journey. You will work closely with nurses, therapists and wider clinical teams to provide consistent, compassionate and safe support.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Offering enhanced care using a flexible and person-centred approach

  • Providing physical and emotional support to people in our care

  • Building positive, professional and trusting relationships with service users

  • Learning about each individual’s needs and supporting them in the most appropriate way

  • Assisting with medical, welfare and personal support needs

  • Reporting on medical and welfare needs as required

  • Supporting safeguarding practices and maintaining professional boundaries

  • Helping to maintain a safe, clean and therapeutic environment

  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive daily routines

  • Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team
