We are looking for a Laundry Assistant to join our team at Woodrowe House. This role is on a shift pattern: 9.30 – 3.30; 2 days on the short week (Wednesday & Thursday) and 5 days on the long week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) on a 2 week rolling rota.

Woodrowe House is a leading neurological complex care service located in the picturesque outskirts of Leicester, in Markfield. We specialise in complex care and treatment for individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI) and other neurological conditions, including stroke and spinal injuries. Our mission is to provide a supportive and expert environment for long-term and short-term care needs.

Set in 6.5 acres of beautiful grounds, Woodrowe House is a large and spacious property designed to promote a sense of well-being and independence. The service has comfortable bedrooms, all with ensuites. The entire service is wheelchair-friendly, with level access and widened doorways to ensure ease of movement for all individuals. Our homely environment includes dedicated therapy and activity rooms, providing the perfect setting for recovery and social engagement.

Responsibilities:
• To maintain agreed standard of cleanliness, hygiene and odour control.  
• To carry out laundry tasks required on a daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal and annual basis, as per task schedules as prescribed by the homes management. 
• To follow the homes adherence to COSHH regulations and the homes policies and procedures.  Ensuring that COSHH products are secure at all times in line with health and safety requirements of the home environment.  
• Informing the Housekeeping Manager of low stock controls of products.
• Adhering to Health and Safety requirements at all times.
• To report any incidents or accidents to the Housekeeping Manager without delay.
• Assist at weekends when required with the washing of plates, cutlery and cups/glasses using the dishwasher supplied.
• To act at all times as an ambassador to Woodrowe House.
• To collect laundry from residents’ rooms and corridors daily. 

Day to day Duties:
• Collection of laundry throughout the day, washing, drying and ironing clothing and bedding. Distributing clean laundry back to residents and laundry cupboards. Maintaining clean and tidy working environment. Completing paperwork as required.
