We are looking for an experienced trainer to join the central Learning & Development team.

Job Purpose:

To deliver a business wide programme of structured learning to ensure staff are trained to meet mandatory training requirements. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver training to relevant staff that meets the Oliver McGowan mandatory training requirements
  • To deliver other courses as and when required
  • To assess skills and knowledge relevant to course content
  • Provide structured feedback to those that need additional support and guidance
  • To provide timely feedback from course outcomes  to service managers
  • To provide accurate course reports and assessments of course outcomes to the wider business
  • To co-design, co-produce and co-evaluate a range of training materials and workshops to meet the Oliver McGowan mandatory training requirements as required
  • To maintain and develop up to date relevant professional standards and skills.

Key Tasks:

  • To liaise with the wider learning and development team to organise and plan the delivery of courses
  • To deliver courses using a range of teaching methods that encourage participation and development of skills and knowledge
  • To ensure training is delivered safely and effectively
  • To collate and accurately update training records in a timely manner
  • To work with the wider Learning and Development team to promote a cohesive learning and development culture within the company.
  • To work on ad hoc projects as directed by the Learning and Development senior team
  • To undertake any other tasks as required by the company.

Required skills:

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Relevant ‘lived experience’ of autism and/or learning disability
  • Relevant experience in a training/teaching environment
  • General knowledge of training and development, ideally within the health and/or social care sectors
