Role Profile: M365 & Azure Project Manager (2 years Fix Term)

Location:

Hybrid – UK (with travel to key sites as required)

Role Purpose:

The M365 & Azure Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering Microsoft 365 and Azure transformation projects across the organisation. This role will work within the Cygnet PMO team to help deliver complex cloud migration initiatives, ensure secure-by-design implementation of modern workplace technologies, and drive adoption across clinical and operational teams.

The role requires strong technical understanding of M365 and Azure platforms, excellent project management capability, and the ability to work with senior stakeholders, partners, and end‑users to achieve business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Delivery

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of Cygnet’s Cloud Transformation programme across a Microsoft 365 rollout and Azure infrastructure migrations.
  • Develop end‑to‑end delivery plans, POAPs, and detailed project schedules.
  • Lead Design, Build, Test, Cutover, and Post-Go‑Live phases with clear documentation.
  • Manage all RAID elements, dependencies, and readiness checkpoints.
  • Run cutover command centres and daily reporting in major migrations.

2. Technical Leadership

  • Coordinate technical SMEs, partners, and internal teams to deliver the solutions.
  • Oversee M365 migrations covering identity, mail, files, devices, security, and apps.
  • Oversee the Azure infrastructure programme such as landing zones, networking and server migration wave planning.
  • Support governance activities including Conditional Access, MFA enforcement, data protection policies, and Zero Trust implementation.

3. Stakeholder & Change Management

  • Engage with Operations, Clinical stakeholders, and local site leads.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear business‑friendly messaging.
  • Work closely with change & adoption, training and communications teams to ensure successful onboarding.

4. Governance & Reporting

  • Prepare and manage project reports and dashboards.
  • Ensure alignment with Programme Governance, PMO standards, and stage-gate processes.
  • Maintain high‑quality project documentation.

Key Experience Required

M365 Experience

  • Exchange Online migration delivery.
  • OneDrive/SharePoint Online migration and restructuring.
  • Teams’ enablement, governance, and adoption experience.
  • Intune/Endpoint Manager deployment, Autopilot, device compliance.
  • M365 Enterprise Apps rollout

Azure Experience

  • Azure landing zone or core infrastructure delivery.
  • Azure networking: VNETs, NSGs, firewalls, hub‑and‑spoke.

Project Management Skills

  • Delivery of large, multi‑site, multi‑phase cloud projects.
  • Excellent planning, RAID management, dependency mapping.
  • Cutover planning and execution experience.
  • Strong partner management (SI, MSP, CSP).
  • Prince2, Agile, or hybrid delivery.

Desirable Experience

  • Healthcare or clinically regulated environment experience.
  • Knowledge of AI/Copilot enablement and data readiness.
  • Understanding of Microsoft licensing.
  • Experience of Monday.com PPM tooling.

Key Competencies

  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to operate in fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Structured, detail‑driven approach to planning and execution.
  • Risk‑aware mindset with strong governance discipline.
  • Ability to simplify technical information for business audiences.

Qualifications

  • Prince2 Practitioner, APM, or similar (desired).
  • Microsoft certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑900, MS‑102, MD‑102) – beneficial.
  • Demonstrable delivery track record in enterprise cloud projects.
