Your Role
Service Line: Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and Male and Female Acute Mental Health.
Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital is our mental health hospital in Coventry, currently including Brook Ward our 15-bed acute service for men and Blythe Ward, a 12 bed PICU.
Our Occupational Therapy Service is responsible for the assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction, through the use of purposeful and meaningful activities. Most recently, introducing VdTMoCA training for our Occupational Therapists, working towards this model being standard practice within the service line. Our clinical involvement is extremely valued by the wider team.
We want to recruit an exceptional Band 7, Head of Occupational Therapy. If you have a history of demonstrating clinical expertise and you have a passion for developing others, this could be an opportunity for your next challenge.
Your clinical caseload will be based on the male PICU, with the support of a full time Occupational Therapy Assistant. You will become a part of a close network of Occupational Therapists within the specialism, whom have recently developed a service line manual to support your understanding of the role in line with our model of care. You will have the opportunity to participate in regular service line meetings and clinical steering groups to encourage better outcomes and innovation in practice.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.
We ensure our occupational therapy team members have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
