Cygnet was established in 1988. Since then we have developed a wide range of health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism and learning disabilities within the UK.
The post holder will work as a BI & Analytics Manager taking Cygnet on its next step to implementing intelligent data and reporting requirements across the organisation. The post holder will take ownership to collate, investigate, analyse and transform data into readable, goal-driven reports, whilst implementing Power BI for continued innovation and growth in line with business needs under working guidance of the Head of Data and Analytics in conjunction with the Digital Services Senior Team and wider business stakeholders. You will work closely with the Data Engineering Manager to improve the availability and quality of data available to the business.
Responsibilities Include:
- Implement Power BI liaising with stakeholders on how to make it work most effectively for the business.
- Maintain the current SSRS reporting suite whilst a managed move to Power BI takes place.
- Assist the business in report creation and maintenance whilst we continue to implement our Data Warehouse and Reporting tools.
- Promote a self-service standard reporting culture and the use of BI tools and concepts across the organisation.
- Keep up to date with dashboard trends, technological innovations and new tools.
- Set and ensure visualisation standards, guidelines and best practices are embedded adhered to.
- Translate concepts into wireframes and develop visualisation mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how solutions will look and function.
- Through an approach of continuous feedback identify and troubleshoot any visualisation problems to ensure users have optimum experience in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and engagement with the data and reporting.
- Coach and mentor the team to ensure visualisation design practices are embedded in day to day thinking.
- Leading your team and undertake people management accountabilities and manage their performance through 1:1’s, annual performance reviews, etc.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Interpret and analyse the data across the organisation, using statistical techniques to identify trends, patterns and opportunities to enable the organisation to make informed business decisions.
- Provide actionable insights into the business objectives, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
- Proactively analyse data to answer key questions raised by staff and directors or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
- To apply exceptional attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality and efficient new processes are implemented.
- Documentation of BI architecture, policies and procedures.
- Use Dev Ops to manage, plan and prioritise work for the Analytics Team.
- To create or recommend reporting solutions to support business areas – solving business problems with analytical methods as opposed to simply delivering requirements. Identify, design and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes and optimising data delivery.
- To represent the team as appropriate in internal and external meetings. The post holder must be able to travel and be sufficiently confident to forge effective working relationships as required.
- The post holder will have, and continue to gain, appreciation for the working environment of the clinical, personnel, financial and performance community, ensuring that outputs meet expectations of stakeholders.
- Ensure the provision of escalation point of contact within the team for all queries, problems, requests and incidents relating to data and reporting ensuring they are logged, tracked and completed.
- Provide training for staff from own or other disciplines on own subject area, when required. On occasion, the post holder may be required to work unsociable hours to support and/or enable the delivery of key programmes or projects.
- Pro-actively participate in ensuring that service delivered within Cygnet reflects best practice with respect to organisational, NHS and legislative requirements and guidelines.
